Blink Sync Module Offline

If your Blink Sync Module is offline, here are some reasons this might be happening:

  • Your Sync Module is not in connection mode.
  • Your Wi-Fi signal strength is weak.
  • You changed your Wi-Fi password.
  • Your Sync module is not working properly.

Keep reading to see what you can do to bring your Blink Sync Module back online.

Blink Sync Module Offline: How to Troubleshoot

So here are some troubleshooting steps to help you get your Blink Sync Module back online:

1. Power Cycle Your Blink Sync Module

If your Blink Sync Module is offline, start your troubleshooting by power cycling the device. This should refresh the device and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

You can power cycle your Blink Sync Module by unplugging it from the electrical outlet. Then wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.

If your Blink Sync Module remains offline after this, continue to the next step.

2. Check that Your Wi-Fi Connection is Functioning

If your Blink Sync Module is offline, your Wi-Fi connection might be faulty. To check if you have a functional Wi-Fi connection, connect your phone to your Wi-Fi network.

If the phone can’t access the internet, your Wi-Fi connection might be faulty.

You can try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi network by rebooting the router. Unplug it from the power source. Then wait for about 30 seconds and plug it back in. Your Blink Sync Module should reconnect to your Wi-Fi network and come back online.

If the Sync Module doesn’t connect and other of your devices can’t access the internet, contact your ISP and report the problem.

But if your phone and other devices can access the internet but the Sync Module remains offline, continue to the next step.

3. Check that Your Sync Module is Ready to Connect to Wi-Fi

Your Blink Sync Module will only come online if it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network. If the device is offline, it means it’s not connected to Wi-Fi.

And the Sync Module needs to be in connection mode to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

To know if your Blink Sync Module can connect to Wi-Fi, study the lights on the device. If the Sync Module is ready to connect, you’ll see a solid blue and a solid green light on the device.

If you see any other light apart from these, your Sync Module may have encountered an error while loading.

You can fix this issue by rebooting the Sync Module. To reboot your Blink Sync Module, detach the power cord from the device and wait for 30 seconds. Then plug the cord back into the Sync Module.

Your Sync Module should start rebooting, and solid green and blue lights should appear on the device. After this, the Sync Module should connect to your Wi-Fi network and come back online.

But if the Sync Module is still offline, move on to the next tip.

4. Move your Sync Module Closer to Your Router

A weak Wi-Fi signal might cause your Sync Module to disconnect and go offline. This often happens when your Sync Module is too far from your router.

To bring the Sync Module back online, unplug the device from its current power outlet. Then move the Sync Module closer to your router and plug it into an outlet around the new area. We suggest placing the device within 30 feet of the router.

After bringing the Sync Module closer to your router, it should receive strong Wi-Fi signals and connect to your Wi-Fi network.

However, if the Sync Module remains offline, check out the next tip.

5. Enter Your New Wi-Fi Password in the Blink App

If your Blink Sync Module is offline, you might have changed the password to your Wi-Fi network. Since the Sync Module still contains the old Wi-Fi password, it will go offline immediately after you start using the new one.

You can resolve this problem by entering your Wi-Fi password in the Blink app.

Here’s how to do that:

  • Tap the question mark icon (?) in the Sync Module Offline banner.
  • A set of solutions will appear.
  • Click on Change Wi-Fi Network.
  • Then tap on your current Wi-Fi network.
  • Input the new Wi-Fi password.
  • Save the changes and exit the page.
