Treatlife Smart Switch Not Connecting to Wi-Fi: Try These Troubleshooting Tips
1. Ensure the Smart Switch is Wired Correctly
If your Treatlife Smart Switch is not connecting to Wi-Fi, the device might not be getting enough power. This usually happens if the wiring isn’t done correctly.
Each wire nut in your Treatlife Smart Switch package comes with a label that states where they should be installed. For instance, the Line/Load wire nut should be connected to the White wire. If you don’t connect the wire nuts to their designated wires, your smart switch won’t get enough power.
Since you’ve already installed the wire nuts, you may not know which label belongs to each wire nut. In this case, it’s best to ask an electrician to help you wire your smart switch correctly.
Your Treatlife Smart Switch should connect to Wi-Fi once your electrician wires the device correctly. But if it doesn’t, try the next tip.
2. Reboot Your Router
If your Treatlife Smart Switch isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, another fix to try is rebooting your router. This will refresh your Wi-Fi connection and help fix the connection problem.
You can reboot your router by unplugging it from the power source and plugging it back in—after a few seconds.
Check that the router is powered on after plugging it back in. You should see a green light or so on the device if it’s powered on.
Your smart switch should connect to Wi-Fi after rebooting the router. If the device doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi, try the next tip.
3. Bring Your Router Closer to Your Treatlife Smart Switch
Your Treatlife Smart Switch may fail to connect to Wi-Fi because your Wi-Fi signal strength is low.
To check the strength of your Wi-Fi signal, surf the internet on your phone using your Wi-Fi connection. If website pages load quickly, your Wi-Fi signal is strong.
However, if you can’t access the internet, or your browser takes a long time to load pages, your Wi-Fi signal strength is poor.
You can improve your Wi-Fi signal strength by moving your router closer to your smart switch. Your Treatlife smart switch should connect to Wi-Fi when it’s within range of your router. Installing a Wi-Fi extender in your home will also help to increase the range of your router.
If your smart switch still fails to connect to Wi-Fi after this, move on to the next step.
4. Check that You’ve Entered the Correct Wi-Fi Password
When you are trying to connect your Treatlife Smart Switch to Wi-Fi, the system will ask you to input the Wi-Fi password. If you enter the wrong password, your device won’t connect to Wi-Fi.
If your smart switch isn’t connecting, check that you’ve entered the correct Wi-Fi password.
If you have forgotten your password, reset your router and set a new password.
Your Treatlife Smart Switch should connect to Wi-Fi once you input the correct password into the Treatlife app. However, if the device doesn’t connect, check out the next tip.
5. Move Your Router and Smart Switch to a New Location in Your Room
Are there other devices that require a Wi-Fi connection in your home? If so, these devices might interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. This interference might prevent your Treatlife smart switch from connecting to Wi-Fi.
To resolve this issue, you’ll need to move your router and smart switch away from these devices.
Common devices that cause Wi-Fi signal interference are:
- Baby Monitors
- Cordless phones
- Microwave oven.
Once you move your router out of range of these devices, your Treatlife Smart Switch should connect to Wi-Fi. But if the device doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi, try the next step.
6. Switch to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network
Your Treatlife Smart Switch only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. So, if you are trying to connect the smart switch to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network, the device won’t connect.
To resolve this issue, set your router to broadcast on the 2.4GHz band only. You can do this via your router’s admin page. If you’re not sure how to change the Wi-Fi band on your router, refer to your router’s user manual or try googling the model to find guidelines.
If this doesn’t help, continue to the next step
7. Factory Reset the Smart Switch
If your Treatlife Smart Switch doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi after you’ve tried all the tips above, factory reset the switch. This usually helps to fix some unseen glitches obstructing the connection process.
Take the following steps to reset the smart switch:
- Press and hold the reset button on the switch for about 10 seconds. You can find the reset button at the back of the switch.
- Release the reset button.
- The reset is complete.
Note that factory resetting your smart switch deletes all saved information on the device. So, you’ll need to start all over again to set up the switch.
Your smart switch should connect to Wi-Fi after this.
Is your Treatlife Smart Switch still not connecting to Wi-Fi? Perhaps, the last tip might help you resolve the issue.

To recap, if your Treatlife Smart Switch isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, ask an electrician to install the device’s wires properly. Then, ensure that your router is turned on.
You can also move your router closer to your smart switch. If this doesn’t help, move your router and smart switch away from other wireless devices and switch to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
Another solution you can try is to factory reset the switch.
